When preparing for a stay at an addiction treatment center for 7-30 days, it’s important to ensure you have everything you might need for comfort and routine while adhering to the facility’s guidelines. Here’s a short list of essentials to bring, limited to two suitcases or travel bags:
- Clothing: Bring comfortable, casual clothes for daily wear, including sleepwear, swimwear, workout clothes, and sneakers. In cooler seasons, bring a jacket.
- Personal Hygiene Items: Pack a toothbrush and toothpaste, shampoo and conditioner, soap or body wash, deodorant, hairbrush or comb, and shaving supplies (excluding alcohol-based products and razors).
- Prescribed Medications: Any prescribed medications must be in their original bottles or packages, clearly labeled. Please let us know in advance what medication you need to bring.
- Essential Documents: Mandatory photo identification (e.g., driver’s license or passport) and insurance card.
- Miscellaneous: List of emergency contacts, a small amount of cash or a credit card for incidentals, a journal or notebook, books or approved reading material.
